Recently, we were asked how our band sawmill cuts at low (negative) temperatures. 
Whoever has tried to mill frozen wood knows it can be really challenging. However, that doesn’t mean it’s impossible
Perfect example can be our client from Norway. 
The wood that can be seen in the picture is beech wood that has 120 cm in width. For people that couldn’t know – this type of wood is definitely one of the harder ones. 
The middle of January and the type of material were not a problem for our BIG SAM, and the Norwegian aura only added a fairytale atmosphere to the cut. Despite the negative temperature, the band sawmill did not lose the quality of the cut, and the work itself was done efficiently. 
So the fact is that as long as the temperature does not drop to extremely negative values, it should not be a major problem for our machines.
